Lokey solo show. 12th November

Weapon of Choice Gallery are proud to host the first solo show from the artist know as 'Lokey'.

Opening preview 12th November 6-10pm.

Lokey was born and raised in Bristol. His passion for Graffiti started in the mid 1980’s through a chance meeting in a local park, with some kid’s break-dancing who had returned from their holiday in America with hip-hop mix tapes and photographs of Graffiti.

Lokey, amongst Bristol's second wave of graffiti writers is the youngest of the veterans. Growing up in the Kingswood Hip Hop scene that nurtured the likes of Deed, Cheo, Kato and Soker went on to be a member of Bad Applez, Dry Breadz & more recently Weapon of Choice. Collaborator with Banksy amongst many others Lokey has been painting the streets of Bristol over the last 2 decades in the once underground scene, which is now very much a part of the day to day lives of Bristolian people.. Considered one of the best 3D letter writers around but not being pinned down to just 3D, keeping a vast amount of styles under his belt. The show is an exhibition of artworks adapted from Lokey’s black books, his inspiration for his Graffiti, and an insight into his imagination... Check out the book 'Children of the Can' for a full interview with the man himself. This one's not to be missed!

Show runs until the 5th of December 2010.

'Limited Press Collective' Group Exhibition

'Limited press Collective' Group Exhibition at 'Weapon of Choice' Gallery

If you don't already know about these guys you must have been walking round with blinkers on looking at the floor..! But if you have here's a little bit of what you can expect from them..! Enjoy

Limited Press is a Bristol based collaborative art and design collective, best known for their large scale murals. As well as producing street art and graffiti, Limited Press also take on a wide variety of design, illustration and art projects.

“We're not overly concerned with categorizing what we do, we make work and take on projects that excite us creatively, that's the bottom line, whether its an exhibition or a design commission we apply the same energy and process of collaboration;a kind of alchemy in itself which characterises our work”.

Given the diverse nature of their work, and their team, the collaborative exhibitions of Limited Press share this interdisciplinary approach, often encompassing elements of installation, sculpture, design and painting. Their upcoming Show at Weapon of Choice Gallery, based on the idea of 'supply and demand' , will be no exception, featuring a collaborative installation by Meek and Kai, as well a new series of wall mounted works by the highly imaginative and unorthodox hand of Long John. A host of other original artworks and editions by the rest of the crew will also be available at the show opening from the 22nd Oct till the 7th of November (Please excuse the flyer typo..!)

SIZE? x PUMA TURN UP THE HEAT...!

SIZE? TURN UP THE HEAT FOR THEIR 10th ANNIVERSARY WITH A MIAMI STYLE COLLECTION

Drop number three in the Size? Puma 10th Anniversary collection is the quintessential eighties inspired Sky II Hi. This addition sees an amazing hook up with Trainspotter taking on the theme of “Miami Vice.”

The classic silhouette of the Sky II Hi allows for the trainer to be perfectly rendered and brought up to date. Trainerspotter rise to their challenge by designing the sneaker in three pastel tones; grey, mint and pink - straight out of Crockett’s wardrobe.

Size? oppose this with a take on a Sweeney inspired Sky II Hi, they add a gum sole, retro inspired, canvas corduroy form stripe and button detailing.

If you’re a fan of Puma trainers this drop is for you. Appreciate the aesthetics, love the design and become apart of Size? 10th Anniversary’s history. For true sneaker fans, keep your eyes peeled for the limited edition, customised Bio Mega bikes emulating both the Trainspotter and Size? Sneakers.

The third collaboration from the Puma x size? 10th anniversary project will be launching in-store and via size.co.uk on the 16th October, RRP £70 limited to 200 pairs of the Trainerspotter shoe and 120 of the size? reaction shoe

Puma and size? 10th Anniversary..!!

Here at 'WOC' we always want you guys and girls to be up to date with all the freshest PUMA releases. So we thought we give you a 'Sneaky peek' at the new Puma and size? 10th Anniversary ‘Reaction Packs’. So check em out...!!

A collaboration project on three fronts, sees size? adding to their 10th Anniversary collection with a prestigious series of shoes from Puma. Teaming up with the formstriped brand, as well as some of their global friends from around the world, to create a unique range of trainers from some of Puma’s most famous silhouettes.

Given the name ‘Reaction Pack’, size? and their closest associates have chosen and created a shoe that is a ‘reaction’ to the other. Be it in opposite forms, a reflection of or a different take on the design altogether, the end result is a collection of collaborations where each design holds a story and each detail has been considered and reviewed to make this one of the finest additions to the size? ‘X’ series.

Kicking off with Australia’s Sneaker Freaker. The R698 Reaction Pack sees Sneaker Freaker’s version paying homage to the 'Geography Teachers' amongst us! Opting for a fresh summer look with colours of beige suede and black with mauve highlights. The reaction shoe features a tooled brown leather upper with brogue detailing and signature size? Anniversary tongue branding.

Available with each pair, comes a Puma Compass set and atlas, featuring size?’s five global birthday party pals.

Launching In-store and via size.co.uk on the 14th August.
RRP £70. So you best get down to your local Size? store seriously early that morning to cop a pair of these sick sneaks..! Get your queue on..!
